After the Tubbataha ay A.T.I.N. presentation the volunteers of Tubbataha no longer had any plans for the afternoon so decided to go around town and visit Caniqui Falls. When I heard it I invited myself to join them even if was not ready for the quick swim in the falls. Good thing that I was wearing my trek shoes and was bringing an extra pair of shorts in my small bag. I don’t know why I brought them but it was destiny.
So after lunch we were on their service van headed for Caniqui Falls.

The walk to the falls starts at this broken bridge

Then you'll walk on this rough road

Then you'll pass by a broken bridge again

Watch out when the road curves to the right after the second bridge. You'll see the trail to Caniqui Falls marked by the hand rail.

A short downhill trek from the road and you'll arrive in Caniqui Falls

You can go up to the upper portion of the falls through the side

View from the top of the falls
Thanks guys for letting me join you in Caniqui Falls.

i Serve. i Conserve.
- From Taytay, Palawan town proper, ask a tricycle driver if he could take you to Caniqui Falls. According to the tricycle driver that I talked to the standard rate for hiring a tricycle to take you to the jump off of Caniqui Falls and to take you back is 600 to 700 Pesos/tricycle. Each tricycle can take up to 4 pax.Don’t forget to ask for the number of your tricycle driver as this is the same tricycle that will wait for you and take you back.
- When you arrive at the jumpoff of Caniqui Falls you will find a broken bridge. If the bridge was not broken your tricycle could still take you further down the road, but a little exercise will not do you harm.During the walk, be watchful when the road becomes sloping upwards and is curving to the right as the trail to Caniqui Falls is located on the left side of the road. You would see this with a wooden hand rail. Then it’s all downward to the falls from here. The walk will take around 15-20 minutes.
Walk back to your tricycle and ride the tricycle going back to the town of Taytay, Palawan.
- There are no sari-sari stores near the falls or during the walk to the falls. Better if you buy your water and snacks in the market of Taytay, Palawan.
- During the tricycle ride to the falls watch on the side the scenic view of the Bay in Taytay. Since you hired the tricycle you can ask them to stop so you can take a picture once in a while.
