I first heard of how great Romblon was when I talked to a traveler in Palawan. He told me of clear seas, refreshing waterfalls, long hikes and many other things to do and see. I was seriously interested in going to Romblon but I was not decided yet on when. That time, I was sure that my visit would not be this year as I had my 12 for 2012 Travel Project schedule to follow until I chatted with fellow Pinoy Travel Blogger Dazl Silverio of DazzlingDazzle.com.
Turns out she was a local of Romblon and their Provincial Tourism Office, which was headed by Myrna Silverio (Dazl’s mother), was looking for a volunteer travel blogger to go backpacking around the province to write and guide travellers around it, and I was being offered the slot. It was a blessing that I would not refuse.
So for the month of May I changed my schedule to Romblon and went around for 20 days with the dazzling Dazl and swam in clear seas, clean rivers and refreshing waterfalls; visited different islands, many sanctuaries and my personal favorite, lighthouses; and I enjoyed talking to the kind locals while documenting the province. I got to know their unique culture too, especially the food.
I would like you to see some of the great things I have encountered in Romblon with my very first FREE e-book entitled Bits and Pieces of Romblon.

To the people who helped us by offering us food and shelter around Romblon, you have my sincerest gratitude. Without your kindness, my Romblon experience would not be as awesome as it had been.
I remember again the traveler I met in Palawan. He told me great stories about Romblon but the province was far greater than what he told me.
This post is part of my 12 for 2012 Travel Project that aims to create travel guides to help travellers go around and appreciate the Philippines.
