We already had plans for Lambug Beach later that day but we decided to rest first at Matutinao Beach Resort and do the visit late in the afternoon. Eventually, while they were resting I was outside looking for a banana as I wanted to load on potassium before the Cebu Canyoneering Activity the next day.
Finding the Banana
I found out that bananas could not be bought at the vicinity of Matutinao Beach Resort or somewhere outside. Everyone I asked told us that we should head to the Market of Badian for us to buy bananas. Luckily, Lisa (Pinay Travelista) and Marky (Nomadic Experiences) went out of the room and joined me on my plan to head to the town proper of Badian.
2:15 PM We rode a small jeepney to the Market of Badian. While on the way we saw the sign to Lambug Beach. It turns out that Lambug Beach is located between Matutinao Beach Resort and the Town Proper of Badian. We decided that we will no longer go back to Matutinao Beach Resort before going to Lambug Beach.
2:28 PM (Travel Time 14 minutes, Fare 10 Pesos/person) Upon arrival at the Market of Badian, we quickly called Kuya Dane (my brother) that he should follow us to the Market of Badian so that we could head straight to Lambug Beach right after we find the banana.
The decision was made for us to save time and finances but not a very clever decision if you think about us being ready for the swim.
Heading to Lambug Beach
3:26 PM We got the banana, my brother was there and we found a tricycle driver who agreed to take us to Lambug Beach for 30 Pesos/person since we were 4 persons.
It turns out that on the way to Lambug Beach we would be passing by a golf course, specifically by Cebu International Golf & Dive Resort.
3:42 PM (Travel Time 16 minutes, Fare 30 Pesos/person) We arrived at the Port of Lambug Beach.
The truth was we were so focused on the Cebu Canyoneering activity that we never really thought of looking for a sidetrip in Badian. It was only when we met with Travel Bloggers from Cebu that they told us about Lambug Beach. It was a pleasant surprise to see a long stretch of fine sand beach, the sea and sun setting. It was more appealing to me than White Beach.
We asked our tricycle driver where we should go, he told us that we should head to right. Eventually, he guided us and told us where it would be nice to swim.
Since we noticed that not many vehicles go to Lambug Beach we requested for the tricycle driver to fetch us back around 5:30 PM so that we could easily go back to Matutinao Beach Resort. He agreed for the price of 50 Pesos/person.
We eventually reached Magic Beach Resort because they had tables. We asked if we could use their tables even if we were not staying at their accommodation, they told us that we needed to pay a fee of 300 Pesos. We agreed to the price and both some of their food at their stores.
We also checked out some of their rooms.
By the way if you want to book a stay at Magic Beach Resort you can contact them thru this numbers – 0906-307-7210, 0922-322-5168, 0926-120-5042.
Exploring Lambug Beach
We then decided to explore the beach and some of us swam.
Travel back to Matutinao Beach Resort
After the sunset we decided to head back to our tricycle for us to get back to Matutinao Beach Resort.
5:28 PM We rode the tricycle to head back to Matutinao Beach Resort.
5:46 PM (Travel Time 18 minutes, Fare 50 Pesos/person for 4 persons) We arrived at Matutinao Beach Resort. We payed our driver 300 Pesos since we felt generous that he waited for us.
It is possible to avail of the Cebu Canyoneering if you are planning to stay at Lambug Beach. Habal-habal from Lambug Beach to Matutinao Resort is not included in the payment to Kawasan Canyoneering.
The rate of the habal-habal ride from Lambug Beach to Matutinao Beach Resort is 50 Pesos/person.
There are small stores in Lambug Beach where you can buy some drinks and snacks. If you need more you can go to the Market of Badian.
