My San Vicente, Palawan Expenses

Clear Waters of Boayan Island

I was riding on a van to Roxas, Palawan last January 2012 when 2 Germans asked me about Palawan. They asked about Port Barton but I was totally clueless of the place. When I arrived at Roxas, Palawan I tried asking around the transportation terminal and found that the jeep to Port Barton was full of foreigners. According to the jeepney driver that Port Barton was popular among the foreigner and not with Filipinos.

I researched more about Port Barton. It was located in the municipality of San Vicente, Palawan which has the longest beach here in the Philippines. It also boasts of Boayan Island which they say is a hidden natural gem. The locals also said that there was a dairy farm there that I could buy milk fresh from the cow. Looked at Google Maps and it definitely sparked my interest changing my plans for my 12 for 2012 Travel Project from Southern Palawan to San Vicente, Palawan.

Luckily, Val de Guzman, a friend of mine who also share the same passion with nature, the outdoors and talking to people also moved to Palawan. I invited her to join me on a 5-day trip to San Vicente and she agreed! And luckily, she also shared the expenses with me making me afford to explore the beauty of San Vicente.
