More Energy, Mas Happy ang Happy Trail!

May 24, 2010 by Cat Leave a Comment

I promised myself, if I’d join another race, it should not be anywhere near our house. But the thing is, our friend in UP Mountaineers, Pen Nepomuceno, had complimentary slots for the Enervon Happy Trail Run. So, game! Patulan na ‘to!

So, Pen, Yves, Cha, Gab (the virginal for trail run) and I met at Jollibee Philcoa for more happiness. I was never a morning person. But, with events like this, I make sure that I could make it on time. How? By not sleeping. Yes, I was never a fan of sleeping. Not that I am excited for the run but, if I sleep, I might not wake up on time. I sleep so late and even 5 alarms could not wake me up in the middle of my sleep. Even if I am tired, I promised my teammates that we’d go for the run and be happy!

“Are you ready???? Attention!!!!! Rooooow!!!”

Oar

Oar

After running 15km in The Green Miles (see previous blog), Josiah, Kuya Dane and I headed to Manila Bay to witness (and to participate) the first leg of the Philippine Dragonboat Federation.

“Ready for 30 powerlongs???? NOOOOOOW!!!!”

Community-based and school-based teams competed for the 300m race course. The participating teams were UP Dragonboat Team, DLSU Rowing Team, PNP Rowing Team, Rowers Club of the Philippines, Philippine Dragon Rowing Team, Philippine Youth Rowing Team, Triton, Aqua Fortis, Manila Dragons, Sea Dragons, Manila Ocean Park and Drago Pilipinas. And boy, it was a good sunny day!

Ateneo Aquathlon 2010: Cat’s Perspective

March 21, 2010 by Cat Leave a Comment

For our category, 22-29years old Female, 3 heats were expected based from the numbers of registered participants. But, for some reason, maybe 2/3 of the participants opted to watch the Pacquiao-Clottey Fight or maybe because it was too late before we start, less than 20 females participated in the said category.

Swimming

Swimming

We did 600m swim. And did I mention from the 16 participants, I was the only one who is not a swimmer? For that, I was the last one to finish the swim leg. It took me 19 grueling minutes. I failed my training buddy and my mentor, Kuya Bobong. I did not start and finish strong. It seems all my hard work did not pay off. It was unfair, I thought.

TNF Thrill of the Trail

Trail Sign

It was the most awaited day of the year of each couple in the world. This is the time when the couples could have a whole day for themselves and celebrate the month of hearts. But how about the single people, like myself, who are seeking for another way to celebrate the Valentine’s Day? Well, we opted to join the much awaited TNF Thrill of the Trail in Nuvali, Sta. Rosa, Laguna.
