Man, this place brings back memories. We’ve been an avid customer of Mister Kabab since college. I remember after our gimik we would go there to eat and talk what happened earlier that night.

Front of Mister Kabab

Mr. Kabab is a Persian restaurant that is known for after-gimik dining. You’ll be surprised even in wee hours there’s still a heavy queue for dining customers. It’s open 24/7 even holidays. The price of their meal ranges from 100 Pesos to 200 Pesos without drinks.

Before, Mr. Kabab was located at West Ave corner Quezon Ave just opposite of Delta, now it’s along West Ave with a bigger seating capacity.

Solution to a stressful day

September 20, 2010 by graytdane 3 Comments

Last April my brother showed me a set of pictures from Wawa Dam. Nature on the background, people sitting on the dam, chatting, eating and letting the mossy green waters trickle down to cool them off. I want that feeling too but due to my busy schedule I wasn’t able to experience it then.

One of the pictures that my brother took in Wawa Dam

And after 5 months of work deadlines and busy road traffic my schedule finally gave in and made a gap for me to go to Wawa Dam. I can hear the birds chirping, feel the cool mossy green waters flowing and see the big white rocks and trees on the background, all in my head of course. The plan was just simple, get directions, step out of the house and just go there. No buts. No excuses.

After 1 hour, 13 minutes and 26 pesos of jeepney ride I was finally able to reach my dream destination.

I looked up and saw that the weather was good. All I have to do is just walk the trail and I’ll finally be able to reach the foot of the dam.

The Rexona Run 2010

rexona run 2010

This was my 2nd run for this year. The first one was earlier this year on Tagaytay Highlands – Mizuno Run 2010. Rexona Run 2010 was a big event that was organized by Rio [feeling close kay coach, hehe!]. The number of participants for our category was around 2800+. Imagine the multitude of people during the run [I almost collide to one lady runner who was really cute during the race. Sayang! Hehe!].

Tagaytay Highlands – Mizuno Run 2010

Since my co-lakas.com.ph are both active in running, they encouraged me [more like pressured me] to also join a run. Me and my officemates decided to join the Mizuno Run in The Fort, unfortunately we ran out of slots even before the end of the registration period. Luckily, we saw an ad in the Mizuno store that they’ll be sponsoring another race in Tagaytay Highlands. I haven’t been in Highlands before [and I guess I won’t be returning there either, needs to find a rich friend to go back there, kidding!] that’s why I asked my officemates if we could join that race instead. They saw how eager I am to go there [ambisyoso!] that’s why they granted my request [yey!].

The day of the race [04.25.10], we arrived at Tagaytay Highlands around 5:45am. Luckily, the event was held in Midlands, as we were scared that they’ll let us run in the steep uphill there. The breeze was cold, a very relaxing one compared to the very humid breeze here in Manila. The environment and the view there was also beautiful, as not many houses are established there yet. A commoner like me can’t afford to buy a land there; it’s a very elite place to live in.

Nagsasa, Anawangin, Camara, Capones adventure..

Its Summer time and its freaking hot, time to hit the beach!

nagsasa cove

My brother Sai asked me to tag along with them in Nagsasa Cove, Zambales [woohoo!]. They say Nagsasa Cove is similar to Anawangin Cove, where there are lots of pine trees and is still a virgin beach. It’s about an hour boat ride from Pundakit, Zambales. While exploring the different islands in Pundakit, we saw lots of flying fishes, some of them were even flying in a curve path [my first time to see that kind of stuff!]. The water is lucid allowing  you to view the bottom of the sea clearly.

You could also go to Nagsasa Cove via a 6-hour trek from Subic that requires you to get permits from certain tribes to avoid getting involved with their local tribe wars [literal Survivor-tribe wars ata to, parang panahon ni Lapu-lapu, kakatakot!].

Before going there, we had a couple of side trips in the surrounding islands. First stop was Camara Island. It’s a small island that isn’t inhabited, but it’s still a popular tourist spot in Zambales because of the beach. It also has a cliff where you could climb and see a breathtaking view of the surroundings.
