It was the third stop of out Tricycle Tour around Brooke’s Point, Palawan and we were headed to Barangay Mainit to visit their waterfalls and Makinit hot spring. We entered then a compound with cottages. That’s where we learned that a resort was being built on the vicinity, it’s name will 7 Falls Hot Spring and Nature Park.
We talked with the staff of the place and asked if we could be guided to Bacbacan Falls. They were quite busy that time as they were planning to plant papayas around. When they had decided on who will be guiding us to Bacbacan Falls, we then wrote on their logbook and started walking.
We were first walking on the vicinity of the soon to be resort. There were a lot of construction. We passed by some small swimming pools. According to our guide was arranged in an alternating pattern. One is hot water, then the other is natural spring water.
Just before we left the vicinity of the constructions areas we saw the first of the cascade of waterfalls leading to Bacbacan Falls.

Then the trail went steeply uphill, passing through different waterfalls, going over fallen trees and holding on to veins.
Below are the pictures of how are adventure went.
According to our guide, Bacbacan Falls was named Bacbacan because soldiers hid behind the waterfalls during the times of war with the Japanese.
After a short rest at Bacbacan Falls, we decided to go back to continue our tricycle tour.
It tooks us 2 hours and 12 minutes to trek the whole trail to Bacbacan Falls and back.
When we arrived back at the cottages, our guide told us that we were still not finished yet because we still had to visit the Hanging Bridge at Cabcaben River.
By the way, we paid our guide 200 Pesos for the trek to Bacbacan Falls and accompanying us to Cabcaben River.
