I was refreshed on one of my subjects during college, Marine Science 1. Learned that this place is an essential part of the livelihood of the people in Bolinao, mostly for the people in the islands

We paid an entrance fee of 10 Pesos/person to see their outdoor hatchery.

Lodgings in Abrac Beach in Patar, Bolinao, Pangasinan

January 31, 2012 by Josiah 6 Comments

When we were in Bolinao, Pangasinan we decided to spend the night at Abrac Beach in Patar mainly because I love the sunset there and in the morning or late afternoon a walk along the beach would be really be nice.

Nipa Huts

If you’re planning to stay in Abrac Beach, you want to try staying in the Nipa Huts that are located there in the beach front.

Inside a Nipa Hut in Abrac Beach, Patar

What I hate about the nipa huts there is that they are really near each other and they have videoke in front! When I was talking with one of the owners of the nipa hut we were literally shouting just to hear the both of us. There’s a curfew for videoke, 10PM.

Some Nipa Hut is provided with a cottage and table in front and a cooking area at the back. Kuya Benjie’s Nipa Huts all has this.

Cottages in front of the Nipa Huts

Among the Nipa Hut lodgings in the beach I would like to recommend Benjie’s Nipa Hut because it is located in the farthest side of the beach, only a few of their nipa huts have videokes when we were there and they provide a spotlight for people who wants to do night swimming.

Pasalubong from Bolinao, Pangasinan

Binungey

Located at the entrance of St. James the Great Parish Church. The sellers in front have a uniform and when asked what Binungey is they explained that it is “Suman sa Kawayan” or in English translation Rice Cake in Bamboo.

Fish Sauces/Paste

If you look at the origin of the word Pangasinan it’s Pang-Asin-an. Pangasinan is famous for its fish sauces or bagoong.

Some bagoong costs 15 Pesos per cup and some even goes up to 70 Pesos per cup

Abrac Beach in Brgy Patar, Bolinao, Pangasinan

  • Additional Note

Popularly known as Patar Beach or sometimes called as Patar White Sand Public Beach. I knew the real name of the beach when we visited the Bolinao Tourism Office thanks to Tourism Officer Myrna Aguila and her staff. 🙂

Patar Beach is one of my favorite beaches in the Philippines.

I love walking on the long stretch of white beach.

In the middle there is a big rock that I could rest and hide from the sun for a while.
