Hungduan, Ifugao

Itinerary: Batad – Hungduan – Banaue, Ifugao

July 2, 2015 by Josiah 6 Comments

I have a feeling that my effort to layout all the expenses on our trip to Batad, Hungduan and Banaue will somehow make you confident on traveling to these places, but I also have a feeling that just laying them out there as a list is still not enough so I am also providing our somewhat real itinerary.

The itinerary below is very close to what we really did in our trip but I’ve modified it so that it would be easier to understand if you are also planning on a trip to these places.

To be specific, I adjusted the time to be closer to the nearest 10 minute of what really happened to us.

Check the itinerary below.

Walking in Hapao Rice Terraces in Hungduan, Ifugao, Philippines

Originally, our plan was just to visit Batad and some viewpoints of Banaue Rice Terraces but destiny had other plans for us as we also went to Hungduan. Together with Lai of PinayTravelista.com and Kuya Dane, my brother, it was a perfect vacation with imperfect logistics and imperfect events.

Two weeks before the trip Kuya Dane was asking me to provide the itinerary and budget for our travel, unfortunately, for the past months I have been too busy to create our budget and itinerary. All I can say that time was the budget was 5,000 Pesos per person and we are leaving on the night of June 11 and arriving in the early morning of June 15.

In the end the budget was not followed, so did the planned dates for our travel. The details of these unfortunate events will not be written on this post as it will be too long to write them all here.

Rice Terraces in Hungduan, Ifugao

May 31, 2012 by Josiah 4 Comments

Did you know that the Rice Terraces in Hungduan, Ifugao are included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site list for Cultural Landscape?

Hungduan Rice Terraces, Ifugao as UNESCO World Heritage Site as Cultural Landscape

Frankly, I do not know the benefit if the site is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. What I do know is that the Hungduan Rice Terraces is on my list as my favorite scenic spots in the country and I really want to preserve it the way it is.

Don’t believe me that Hungduan Rice Terraces are awesome? Let me show you what they look like.

Hapao Rice Terraces

Out of all the Hungduan Rice Terraces the ones in Hapao are the most famous as many travellers could see it’s beauty by just going to the view deck located on the road in Hapao. But there’s a better way to see Hapao Rice Terraces and that is to walk on it by going to the Bogyah Hot Spring.
