Palawan Island’s Best Beach Resort

February 12, 2020 by Josiah 4 Comments

On a yearly basis, thousands of tourists go to Palawan Island purely for its pristine beaches. They are some of the best in the world, after all. However, only a few people actually get the luxury of making the most of their time on the sand.

With only a few days set aside for a vacation, a sane person would want to squeeze as many activities and sights-to-see as they can within a matter of hours. A smart vacationer would opt to choose an accommodation where they can have the best of both worlds.

When in Palawan, stay away from busy downtown Puerto Princesa City. These days, its roads are almost as jampacked as every other city in the Philippines. It will take you a while to get to one place from another, and there is not even a beach in sight. Book a room at a resort by the beach instead. Here is a list of the island’s best:

1. BINGA BEACH RESORT (San Vicente Town)

The absolute best beach resort on the island of Palawan is a place only a few people have heard about. It is not yet fully operational as of this moment. And yet, there is already so much to rave about.

Like the Secret Paradise Resort & Turtle Sanctuary, Binga Beach Resort is also a San Vicente Town accommodation that boasts a private beach of its own. What Binga Beach Resort offers, however, is a different kind of beach-living experience.

At Binga Beach Resort, you are one with nature. There are no cold and lifeless hotel rooms here. Just personalized glamping units that welcome in the sea’s breeze.

Review: Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan, Philippines

February 17, 2017 by Josiah Leave a Comment

When we were checking for accommodations in Puerto Princesa, one of our criterias was to be near a beach. Preferably beachfront. Another criteria was to be away from the busy buzz of the city but not that far away just in case we wanted to do something in the city. That was when we decided to stay in Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan. A bit higher than the usual rates compared to budget hotels and backpacker lodge but definitely worth the price.

For discounts book your stay at Microtel Puerto Princesa via Agoda, click here.

14 Things to know when staying in Go Hotels in Puerto Princesa, Palawan

December 29, 2016 by Josiah Leave a Comment

On my frequent visits to Puerto Princesa I am always looking for a clean, comfortable and accessible place to stay. Usually, I would go for a budget accommodation that has a lower quality, common CR and only has a fan room, but whenever I have an tiny amount of extra budget I would prefer staying at Go Hotels in Puerto Princesa. A hotel with good quality but does not break the bank.

Here are most of the things that I like and dislike about Go Hotels Puerto Princesa.

1. Location, Location, Location

Go Hotels is located near Robinsons Mall. Very convenient if I need to buy toiletries, medicine and some other stuff needed for traveling. There are also restaurants just in case you get hungry. Movies too. Mall hours is 10AM to 9PM.

It is also located near the transport terminal in San Jose where you can ride buses and vans going to El Nido, San Vicente, Rio Tuba, Quezon and many other places in mainland Palawan. To get to the transport terminal from Go Hotels just walk to the highway and ride the a tricycle or multicab heading to New Market (10 Pesos/person). Travel time is 5 minutes.

Puerto Princesa: Baywalk, Cathedral and Plaza Cuartel

October 28, 2016 by Josiah Leave a Comment

We wanted to explore Baywalk, the Immaculate Concepcion Cathedral and Plaza Cuartel but we were doubtful if we should go or not since it was around 5:30 PM in the afternoon. We may not have enough time to explore these places due to poor sunlight but thinking of doing nothing for the whole day did not go well with us.

It was a good thing that we stayed in WE Travelers Inn, one of the most convenient places to stay in Puerto Princesa, since it was just walking distance from Baywalk. But we decided to ride a tricycle since we needed to get there faster.

5:50 PM We were in front of WE Travelers Inn asking a tricycle to take us to Baywalk. He said 20 Pesos and we agreed.

10 Reasons to stay in Sea Cocoon Hotel, El Nido, Palawan

August 8, 2016 by Josiah Leave a Comment

If you are still thinking where to stay in El Nido then I would highly suggest that you consider staying in Sea Cocoon Hotel. We stayed here last June 2016 for 2 nights and so far this is the highest quality of hotel that I have stayed in El Nido, Palawan.

Here are some of the reasons why I would recommend staying in Sea Cocoon Hotel.

Comfortable rooms at @SeaCocoonHotel. Spacious. Clean. Aircon was running well. Breakfast was generous. Staff were really helpful. Good water pressure. Lovely Chow Chow Dogs. #SeaCocoon #SeaCocoonHotel #ElNido #Palawan #Philippines

1. Quality rooms

The hotel’s motto is ‘Comfort is our pride’ and they take pride on it by providing guests with rooms that are comfortable, spacious, clean and everything that I want in a hotel was in it.

We were inside our room most of our stay. When we went on a tour it was a really nice to just get inside a clean and comfortable room after a tiring day.
