Batlag Falls in Tanay, Rizal

Batlag Falls in Tanay, Rizal

I’m not a person who would want to go out and travel during the Holy Week since I know there are lots of people traveling at that time. But when you have been deprived of travel around mainland Luzon for almost 2 years my rule to not travel during Holy Week breaks. When my brother said that we should travel to Daranak Falls on April 12, 2014 (Black Saturday) I quickly said yes. We planned the logistics and we executed it last Saturday.

8:00 AM – It was a good thing that Ariel, my brother’s friend, was particular with time. We met him near Masinag Market at lower Antipolo and also around that time after saying hello we quickly went on our way on a private vehicle. The direction was to keep going straight along Marcos Highway away from Cubao.

One question that came up during the road trip was Would there be lots of people at the falls? I was a bit hesitant to answer the question as Holy Week is the time where most Filipinos have time to travel, therefore the probability of people converging at one beautiful place is high, yet I wasn’t sure as I only have been there once and it was not during the Holy Week. Since I was not sure I answered “Let’s just assume that there would be really lots of people there.”

Photo Wednesday: Charcoal Porter

December 29, 2010 by Josiah Leave a Comment

During my trip to Wawa Dam, Montalban, I saw many of these charcoal porters passing by the trails.

Guess how many sacks of charcoal is he carrying?

5 sacks!!! Among the others, he was the one carrying the most. The others were just lifting only 2 to 3 sacks. This guy is strong.

The company I work with always had our training venue in Meralco Management and Leadership Development Center (MMLDC) in Antipolo. I always looking forward to getting an invite to a training inside MMLDC, not only do we get to do something aside from working, but for the delicious buffet food that Eliseus’ Cuisine has to offer. 🙂

According to the MMLDC Website, there was a Pavilion which is open to the public and serves food which was being operated also by Eliseus’ Cuisine. So we went there and tried the food.

After we ordered we were given complimentary kropek.

Solution to a stressful day

September 20, 2010 by graytdane 3 Comments

Last April my brother showed me a set of pictures from Wawa Dam. Nature on the background, people sitting on the dam, chatting, eating and letting the mossy green waters trickle down to cool them off. I want that feeling too but due to my busy schedule I wasn’t able to experience it then.

One of the pictures that my brother took in Wawa Dam

And after 5 months of work deadlines and busy road traffic my schedule finally gave in and made a gap for me to go to Wawa Dam. I can hear the birds chirping, feel the cool mossy green waters flowing and see the big white rocks and trees on the background, all in my head of course. The plan was just simple, get directions, step out of the house and just go there. No buts. No excuses.

After 1 hour, 13 minutes and 26 pesos of jeepney ride I was finally able to reach my dream destination.

I looked up and saw that the weather was good. All I have to do is just walk the trail and I’ll finally be able to reach the foot of the dam.
