Everytime that I visit Baguio, I always make it a point to drop by Chocolate de Batirol in Camp John Hay. Sometimes I even visit here more than once in a single visit to Baguio. I’m just a fan of their hot chocolate and their suman.

The Walk to Chocolate de Batirol
On our visit last February 2017, after our stroll around the Historical Core in Camp John Hay which includes the Bell Amphitheater, Bell House & Cemetery of Negativism, we decided to head to Chocolate de Batirol. It was only 1.4kms so we decided to just walk.
3:27 PM Started walking from Historical Core to Chocolate de Batirol.
We did not really follow the path Google Maps gave us since there was a walkway going down from the Historical Core to the main road of Camp John hay. One of my favorite parts of Camp John Hay since we passed by tall Pine Trees.
We then passed by the entrance of The Manor.
Then the Mile Hi Center.
And some golf courses around Camp John Hay.
4:01 PM We arrived at Chocolate de Batirol.
34 minutes walk for around 1.4 km. I know that is slow. We stopped by the Mile Hi Center to check some souvenirs.
What We Ordered
Since I have been here before multiple times I already knew what to order. Classic Chocolate de Batirol, Suman sa Lihia and Bibingka for snacks.

Bibingka

Suman sa Lihia
For their Chocolate de Batirol you have to be patient since they want to serve this freshly made. They would first heat up some water and mix cacao tablea then mix it when you order.
We were lucky to visit the place when there was no other customers so we were able to see the whole process.
Sometimes when I visit here we would have to wait for a long time since they have to serve many customers.
The Menu
Below are the price during our visit.
This is not their complete menu since they also serve viands (ulam) for Lunch and Dinner.
Please note that prices may change without prior notice.
The Place
What I like about Chocolate de Batirol in Camp John Hay is that it is located in a not so busy place and you can feel the cool air of Baguio. It has an open area feel without air conditioning.
We sat outside since the air is more cooler there.
Pasalubong
They also sell some pasalubong if you want to buy. Unfortuntely, I was not able to get their prices when we visited but at least you would know that you can buy them at Chocolate de Batirol.
Conclusion
I would highly recommend Chocolate de Batirol whenever you visit Baguio City. They serve good authentic Chocolate de Batirol and you can buy a Bibingka and Suman sa Lihia as great companion to the hot chocolate drink.
I have not tried yet their food for lunch and dinner, so my mission next visit would be try those too.
Looking forward to visiting this establishment again in Baguio City.
By the way, we were staying in The Forest Lodge also in Camp John Hay. After our small merienda we walked going back to The Forest Lodge.
