Update July 28, 2015: All visitors of Nacpan Beach are now required to pay 50 Pesos/person to the baranggay representative onsite.
It was the last day of our travel to El Nido, Palawan. The plan was simple breakfast at IBR Store, then drink shake at The Alternative just to take photos at their ‘The Nest’ and last but definitely not the least, visit Nacpan and Calitang Twin Beaches and Maremegmeg Beach.
It was a complicated day for us since we planned to ride the bus going back to Puerto Princesa at around 6PM, check out time at our lodging was at 12NN and we plan to spend the whole afternoon at Nacpan and Calitang. Our solution was to check out early and bring our bags with us to Nacpan and Calitang and head straight to the bus station after beacheneering experience. Good thing we were joined with Project Dora‘s tour group so we could hire a van and minimize the cost of hiring the van. Plus we get to put our stuff in the van inside while exploring the long beach.
The van arrived on time at 10AM, but since we still had to do some packing we left the town proper of El Nido at 10:44AM. It was a 40 minute ride to Nacpan where I had a quick snooze since I still have yet to recover from our island hopping the day before.
We first stopped at Kyla’s Cocina at around 11:18AM to have our lunch cooked then we rode the van again for a short while to the beach.

It was a wow moment when I first saw the beach. It was a long stretch of white beach with tourquoise water. Coconuts and green vegetation on the side and very few fences. It was undeveloped and I hope it would stay that way.
We first explored where the beaches of Nacpan and Calitang meet and climbed the rock formation there to get a better view.
After that we went back to our van at around 1:18PM for a quick ride back to Kyla’s Cocina and was served our pre-ordered lunch of vegetables, crabs, grilled fish and squid adobo.
We had a quick rest after devouring our lunch and rode the van again to the beach. This time some planned to swim and some planned to explore the other longer side of the beach. While some decided to sacrifice themselves to guard others’ stuff while they do their thing.
Unfortunately, like all places during a travel we have time limited enjoyment as we needed to catch our bus back to Puerto Princesa at 6PM. So we rode back at around 4:55PM, arrived at the town proper of El Nido around 5:35PM, Paula and  Marx changed first before we went to the terminal
Yes, we had too much fun in Nacpan and Calitang Twin Beaches that we no longer had time for Maremegmeg Beach. Another good reason to go back to El Nido.
How to get to Nacpan and Calitang Twin Beaches
One could hire a tricycle or a van to get to Nacpan and Calitang Twin Beaches.
If you’re in a group of 4, the tricycle would be your best choice. The standard price when hiring a tricycle through a tour agency in El Nido is 1,500 Pesos per tricycle. Travel time is approximately 1 hour, one-way.
But if you’re more in a group and want more comfort, you may want to hire a van. The standard rate for hiring a van to Nacpan and Calitang Twin Beach and Maremegmeg Beach is around 2,500 Pesos per van. Travel time is approximately 40 minutes, one-way.
We hired our van from Northern Hope Tours. Contact details can be located below.
Note: About half of the road going to Nacpan and Calitang Twin Beaches are rough road that are slippery during the rainy days and dusty during sunny days.
- The sunset is awesome at the beach of Calitang. If you opt to do this discuss this first with your driver before leaving the town of El Nido.
- There are some lodgings in near the beach at Nacpan and Calitang. Though I have no idea how much it costs since we have not visited one.
- There are small restaurants where you can order lunch there.
- There are also sari-sari stores where you can order softdrinks and the usual chips, canned goods and toiletries.
- There’s a public jeepney going to and from Nacpan and Calitang from the town proper of El Nido. Did not get the details though.
