There are 2 ways for you to get to Sabang Port from the town proper of Puerto Princesa and that is via jeepney or van.

2. Getting to Sabang via Jeepney/Non-Airconditioned Bus
Also from San Jose Terminal you can ride a Jeep or Non-Airconditioned Bus going to Sabang Port.
Their schedules are 7AM, 9AM, 12NN and 2PM. If the vehicle is still not full at the scheduled time it will wait for more passengers.
Fare is 100 Pesos (locals), 120 Pesos (local tourist) and 200 Pesos (foreign tourist).
Travel Time is approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes and may even reach up to 3 hours depending on the number of stops the vehicle would have going to Sabang Port.
They also have the same schedule going back to San Jose Terminal from Sabang Port.
How to get to San Jose Terminal from Downtown Puerto Princesa
Ask around where you can ride a multicab to San Jose Terminal. Ride the multicab to San Jose Terminal, this will cost you about 12 Pesos/pax. Travel Time is approximately 10 minutes.
I saw the multicabs going to San Jose Terminal even early in the morning (5AM) and even during night time (9PM).
If you do not want to ride the multicab you may want to ride a tricycle going to San Jose Terminal. The fare is approximately 70 to 80 Pesos/tricycle.
What if I do not like the schedule of the Shuttle Vans or Jeepneys?
There’s actually another way, ride transportation going to Roxas, Taytay or El Nido and tell them that you are alighting at Salvacion.
Salvacion is the baranggay at the intersection of the National Highway and the road going to Sabang Port. (Sorry, I didn’t get how much the fare is. I’ll research when I get back there.)
At the Salvacion intersection there are tricycles and some of them are willing to take you to Sabang Port. According to the tricycle driver that I talked to the fare to Sabang Port is 800 Pesos/tricycle and they only allow 2 or 3 pax per tricycle because the road going to Sabang is hilly and sometimes steep. I heard from someone that the rates of the tricycles here are negotiable. 😉
You may also do this route if you’re coming from Northern Palawan like Taytay or El Nido.

Hi,
I will be going to El Nido with a couple of friends from PP. We are considering the viability of stopping by Sabang. Should we do this en route from PP to El Nido or on the way back or should we not bother trying to do it this way and rather get back to PP before heading out to Sabang again?
Thanks,
Mun Ching
As always, your posts are always helpful. Keep up the good work.
We’ll come from el nido, i hope there’s a better way goin to sabang rather than stop by san jose terminal .
Wow a very detailed info! salamat pards! Now I have something to refer to when I get back to Puerto Princesa.. 🙂
You’re welcome Jeff. Enjoy your travels to Palawan.
wat do you reccomend lodge?
How can I go to San Rafael (where my accommodation is located) from Puerto Princesa airport. The hotel van is quite expensive
Hi Liza, I’m assuming that you’re staying at Nitivos or Astoria or somewhere along the area. You can head to the van terminal in San Jose by riding a tricycle from Puerto Princesa Airport to San Jose Terminal (120 Pesos/tricycle) then ride a van/bus going to Roxas/Taytay/El Nido. I’m not sure how much the rate is but it should be around 100 Pesos/person.
I hope this helps.
Hi!
Are UV express vans reliable for airport shuttle not to miss the flight?
Yes. They are. But it still falls down to the passenger. If you schedule your van transfer on the wrong time, then you would not reach your flight. Better if you give enough extra time for you to reach your flight. And be sure to be at the airport 2 hours before your departure time.
I can’t wait to retire in the Philippines. There’s just so much to see, discover and enjoy in your country. The people are also just as amazing
