Last summer I was swimming in Marikina Sports Park after office, unfortunately they stopped offering night swimming at the start of June. I had to look for other options, which brought me to Makati Aquatic Sports Arena (MASA).
Below are the details I gathered from my visit last Thursday.
Location
In front of Pamantasan ng Makati (University of Makati) along Guadalupe-Pateros Road.
Operating Hours
8:00 AM to 12:00 NN
1:00 PM to 8:00 PM
Entrance Fee
P50 per person – Makati Residents
P150 per person – Non-Makati Residents

Lockers
There are lockers for rent and costs P10 each. No need to bring a padlock, the lockers have integrated locks on them. You need to provide them an ID as deposit for the key.
The problem when renting a locker is keeping the key. I tied my key on the lace of my swimming trunks, but for the very hygienic person this may cause some problems.
Stores
There are no stores located inside the MASA compound, but there are sari-sari stores located approximately 100 meters from the compound where you can buy water, sports drink and some snacks.
Rules
Swimming trunks for men and swimsuit for women.
No food allowed in the pool area.
How to get there
From EDSA Guadalupe, walk at P. Burgos Street. There’s a Pateros bound jeep lined in front of Pilipinas Pawnshop. Tell the driver that you are going to MASA. Fare is P7 per person.
How to go back
From MASA, there are Guadulupe/Tulay bound jeeps passing by. Tell the driver that you are alighting at Guadalupe. Fare is P7 per person.
Cleanliness
MASA is generally clean, the water is clear and there are no trash around the compound, but there are still room for improvements.
There are small bugs swimming at the side of the pool, they bite too. Just toss them out of the pool if you get annoyed.
Sometimes the air smells like gasoline.
My Budget
P11.00 – MRT from Ortigas to Guadalupe
P7.00 – Jeep from Guadalupe to MASA
P150.00 – Entrance fee (non-Makati resident)
P10.00 – Locker
P15.00 – Water
P36.00 – Sports Drink
P7.00 – Jeep from MASA to Guadalupe
P11.00 – Bus from Guadalupe to SM Megamall

P247.00 – TOTAL BUDGET
Swimmers here generally do laps. If you go there ng weekends and stay in lanes, you should do laps or magiging harang ka sa ibang swimmers.
Weekday nights naman training ng Skipjack so sa gilid lang pwede.. 😛
Thanks for the additional info Thirdy. 🙂
till what time is this open? thanks

Hi rLp. They have parking spaces in MASA. Parking is free.

Hi Tracey, I think so kasi yung ibang kaibigan ko yun ang suot. Pero hindi ako 100% sure kung pwede talaga.

Opo. Open sila ng weekends and same din ang operating hours. 🙂
Hi, would you know if they offer loyalty card or something like if you’re a regular customer then you will have a discount? Medyo mahal kasi yung PhP150 kung mga thrice a week magsswim. Thanks for your help!
Hi Josiah! Thanks for a helpful post. I am looking for a cheaper alternative to Ace Water Spa and it looks like MASA fits the bill. I will try to visit one of these days. 🙂
Pwede ba yung cycling as swimming attire sa MASA?
Cycling shorts po ang ginagamit ko kapag nagsswim po sa MASA.
are there any swimming coaches there?
I saw some swimming coaches when I was still swimming there. 🙂
Ilang feet po ba yung pool nila? Thanks
Nung huli ko pong punta doon 4 feet to 6 feet po. Pero hindi ko po sure dahil matagal na akong hindi nakabalik.
