With great weight, comes great appetite. With great appetite, comes a greater search for a big serving of a fresh and delicious burger. This is where Charlie’s Grind & Grill Handcrafted Burgers comes in. Freshly prepared, fresh ingredients and big servings is what this burger place is all about and it can be found in Kapitolyo, Pasig City. A big plus to me since my workplace is near.
According to my cousin who studied culinary arts, Diane, Charlies Grind & Grill use fresh and good quality ingredients. In fact, they prepare their food the traditional way by grinding the meat and cutting the vegetables only when you order. But there’s a con here, it increases the waiting time. Looking at it at a brighter side the more you wait, the more you get hungry and the more you could eat their Freshly Gound Handcrafted Black Angus Burger with Fresh Fries (P195).
First impression, BIG serving! So big that we had to rest and talk for a while before we could finish it again. This is definitely a good burger to eat after training.
My cousin, Enna, tried something that made eating the Fresh Fries more delectable. She first dipped a piece of Fresh Fries in Aioli (garlic mayonnaise) then dipped it in Ketsup before eating. It does add happiness to the experience. A bit of a warning with the Aioli, if you used to much, it could overlap with the taste of the other food.
A good drink to pair with the Black Angus Burger was their Strawberry Milkshake (P150), recommended by their staff. It’s not very sweet and just the right taste for you to enjoy the flavor of strawberry without ruining the taste of the Black Angus Burger. I was a bit expecting to see strawberry tidbits on my milkshake and unfortunately I never found one. Maybe their blender was really good to dice it into very small pieces or they’re using artificial flavoring for their milkshake. Anyways, I’ll never know unless I ask them again on my next visit. 🙂
To close my dining experience I decided to have dessert. Recommended by one of their staff is the Mini Frozen Brazo de Mercedes (P170). Surprisingly, it was as what its name says, mini. This was actually a good thing, since I’m almost full and the only space would be for a few spoonful of Mini Frozen Brazo de Mercedes. Even with its small size the taste was great. A piece of advise when you order this, when their staff asks you if you want it to be served now or later, say now. You would’nt want to bite on a hard Brazo de Mercedes after a tiresome munching of a big serving of Black Angus Beef. As its name says, its frozen.
But that doesn’t end there. Since I was with my cousins who had a lower appetite than me, I was able to extend my helping hand to their other orders. The Half Dozen Hot Buffalo Chicken Wings (P170) and the Half Dozen Sweet Honey Dijon Buffalo Chicken Wings (P170).
Just writing this post makes me want to go back and try other dishes. Next time I’ll make sure to train before coming here that I could eat more and enjoy their delicious food. For the Black Angus Burger, when I come back I will eat you without rest. 🙂
