During my stay in Coron Village Lodge last April 2009, we requested for an additional bed. They gave us a folding bed, unfortunately when my brother and I assembled the bed it was broken. Who you gonna call? The front desk.
One of their staff arrived and checked the bed. My attention was caught on how they ingeniously carried around the keys around the lodging.
Key Sash
Normally lodgings or hotels carried their keys in a keychain that had 10 to a hundred keys. This type of bringing is bulky, it doesn’t free the hands of the carrier and sometimes when its heavy enough it could affect the balance on your body.
With a key sash, the carrier could wear the keys and the hands would be free to do something else while the weight is distributed throughout the body making it easier to walk around.
While the staff was arranging the bed
And the best part of this key sash is that the rope is made from abaca fibers, which is a product of a native species of banana here in the Philippines. The beads are also made of light wood, unfortunately I didn’t know what type, and it also serves as a label to what door the key is used.
Kitchen
that’s interesting. it looks like a decoration too, aside from its use! hehehe.
