We were checking out of The Maxwell Hotel and we still have a good 2 nights before our flight out of Cebu. We were looking for something new and unique and when we checked Agoda, Pillows Hotel was just the right type of hotel we were looking for. So we booked and on the same day showed up in their front desk.
Pillows Hotel Experience
We rode a taxi from The Maxwell Hotel to Pillows Hotel. We could have just walked it but I was nursing a flu and was bringing a heavy backpack so we decided to take the easier route.
Upon arrival, we went to the front desk and was quickly asked how they could help us. We told the reception that we have a reservation via Agoda and was told to wait as they verify and arrange the documents. After less than 5 minutes the staff came back to us and told us that they have verified our reservation and the room was now ready.
But first we had to make a 1,000 Pesos deposit in case there would be some charges or damages that we will incur during our stay. If we are not charged anything they will just give it back upon check-out. We did not mind so we gave the 1,000 Pesos and rode the elevator to our room.
After the surprise deposit, everything went really well. Their pillows were really fluffy. Enough mixture of hardness and softness for me to sleep really well. (Discounted Rates)

Staff Interaction
All staff were really kind. From the multiple front desk personnel that we encountered, the guard, the crew on their dining area and the cleaners that we got to meet that day.
The front desk personnel was really helpful to us and patiently explained to us their policy. Especially, when the 1,000 Peso deposit that we did not know came up. They even helped us when we had a problem with our internet connection.
The Room
The room was spacious. There was enough place to do some yoga.
The beds were just right. Not too soft. Not too hard. The linens were also cleaned well and were not old nor fading.
And their pillows were fluffy and I loved it. Their tagline is Fluffy Good and they have the name Pillow Hotel, given those parameters their pillows are not to be messed with. It was a really good quality pillow.
Aircon was working. The aircon and remote control were in Korean I think which made us have a hard time figuring out how to make it function properly.
There was a table that we could work on which had an electric socket nearby.
There was also a cable TV if you’re into watching TV.
Electric sockets were many. They were near the table, beside both beds. On the other side of the room. There was also one inside the bathroom.

Electric sockets
Light switches were also accessible near the beds. It was really convenient.
There were a mirror, an open cabinet and a safety deposit box.
There was also a complimentary bottled water which they changed daily.
All in all, the room was clean, spacious and a relaxing place to stay.
Bathroom
The bathroom was covered in black tiles.

Bathroom
Towels and face towels can be located there.
There was a shower room with a working hot and cold shower.
Same with the sink, hot and cold water was working.
Complimentary toothbrush, toothpaste and shampoo with conditioner.
WiFi Internet and Mobile Signal
At first, we had a problem with the WiFi Internet. Once we connect we get disconnected again due to the weak signal. We called the front desk and they sent someone up to put a WiFi Extender in our room. Good service!
I tried doing mobile internet via Globe but I was not able to get a good speed. The signal was high and HSPA+ but the speed was really bad. It might be the location of our room or the setting on my phone.

Breakfast
Breakfast was quite unique in Pillows Hotel. We had to go down to the ground floor to their dining area.
The dining area was simple yet artful.

Panorama
When we sat down, the staff gave us a paper with a checklist. We had to choose the combination of our food from the rice to the viand then to the drink. We checked the ones that we liked to have that day and waited for about 5-10 minutes for our food to be served.

Checklist
The food was generous and delicious. Just how I wanted my breakfasts to be.
Accessibility
Pillows Hotel may not be on one of the busiest streets of Cebu City but it is close by. We did not have problems of getting a taxi even during the night.
There was also a 7-11 store close by.
Robinsons mall, restaurants and banks were a walking distance away.
Location was very convenient. You can check out their location in Google Maps here – goo.gl/maps/eatftZKTeu72.
Other Information
We had a moment of ignorance/amazement when we saw the elevator buttons were somewhat touch screen.

Elevator buttons
They cleaned the rooms every day.
One day after our breakfast we saw newspapers in front of our door. The next day there was not a newspaper. So I guess it was not a constant thing, but then again still a good service.

Newspapers
You can also call the front desk if you want a tour.
