Nagsasa Cove

Pre-trip Preparation

My brother approached me and asked for help to arrange a trip for their group. The truth is I’ve stopped arranging trips for other people because it takes a lot of work and I do not want to encounter problematic people again. But I’ve been in Palawan and written about Palawan for far too long that I am looking for a new adventure outside of that paradise.

I asked him for his specifications, he answered.

  • April 26-27, 2014 (2 nights)
  • Visit to Pundaquit in San Antonio, Zambales
  • We would be riding private transportation

I answered

  • Yes, I’m going to help him arrange.
  • Target Budget is 2,500 Pesos/person including fuel, toll fees, food, entrance fees and boat rental.

With that said, he did his part by inviting his friends and I did mine by calling my favorite bangkero in Pundaquit, Mang Florante.

Boat Rate Standardization at Pundakit, Zambales

August 25, 2011 by Josiah 2 Comments

I was walking from Pundakit Falls last April 2011 when I bumped into Mang Florante, a boatman that I regularly hire when I am in Pundakit. He told me one of the good news for tourists and travellers who wants to go to Capones Island, Camara Island, Anawangin Cove, Talisayen Cove, Nagsasa Cove and Silangin Cove, it is the Standardization of the Boat Rates at Pundakit Zambales.

Nagsasa, Anawangin, Camara, Capones adventure..

Its Summer time and its freaking hot, time to hit the beach!

My brother Sai asked me to tag along with them in Nagsasa Cove, Zambales [woohoo!]. They say Nagsasa Cove is similar to Anawangin Cove, where there are lots of pine trees and is still a virgin beach. It’s about an hour boat ride from Pundakit, Zambales. While exploring the different islands in Pundakit, we saw lots of flying fishes, some of them were even flying in a curve path [my first time to see that kind of stuff!]. The water is lucid allowing  you to view the bottom of the sea clearly.

You could also go to Nagsasa Cove via a 6-hour trek from Subic that requires you to get permits from certain tribes to avoid getting involved with their local tribe wars [literal Survivor-tribe wars ata to, parang panahon ni Lapu-lapu, kakatakot!].

Before going there, we had a couple of side trips in the surrounding islands. First stop was Camara Island. It’s a small island that isn’t inhabited, but it’s still a popular tourist spot in Zambales because of the beach. It also has a cliff where you could climb and see a breathtaking view of the surroundings.

Pundakit Tourism

April 13, 2010 by Josiah 2 Comments

I am a big fan of Pundakit, Zambales. I have seen its progress from a small fishing village to now a jumpoff to spectacular tourist attractions such as Anawangin Cove, Nagsasa Cove, Talisayen Cove, Capones Island, Camara Island and the water falls that are around the place.

Last weekend was my 10th time on this place. I still could remember my first time in Pundakit last 2006. The tricycle drivers did not mind us as we alight the bus in front of the Municipal Hall of San Antonio. Tricycle fare was just 20 pesos per person and the price for the boat was just 600 pesos if you are going to Capones Island and Camara Island. But as the price of fossil fuel hiked up so did the price for tricycles and boats, but that did not stop the increase in the number of people going to Pundakit.
