Traveler’s Review: Asus Zenfone 2 Laser 5.0

I’ve been looking for a well performing smartphone lately, as my previous smartphones only does their job but personally they do not perform well. That’s why when I tried the Asus Zenfone 2 Laser 5.0, I was very happy that it did well the functions that I was looking for.

  • Android Lolipop 5.0.2
  • 2 GB RAM
  • 16 GB Internal Storage
  • Up to 128 GB Micro SD
  • Dual Sim (both microsim)
  • 3G/LTE capable (both sim)
  • Screen size: 5 inches
  • Battery: 2,070 mAh (removable)

The specification are nicely written above but there are a number of smartphones that are also has nicely written specifications but could not deliver to what they promised. The Asus Zenfone 2 Laser 5.0 is not one of those smartphones.

As a traveler here are some of the things that I liked about the Asus Zenfone 2 Laser 5.0 in 7 days that I used it as my primary phone.

Casing Style

The back of the phone which has a hairline design with metallic finish actually improves the friction with my hands which makes the probability of the phone slipping very low. It also helps not to slip when it is on my pocket.

Gadget Review: Samsung B2100

Samsung B2100 in the clear waters of New Rizal Falls of Roxas, Palawan

After a year of crazy and wacky adventures, my Samsung B2100 broke. What did I do to experience such an unlucky event? I just swam for more than 1 hour with my phone. Went back home I checked on its specification, it said Submersible up to 1 meter for 30 minutes. Woops! Looks like I overdid it.

How crazy was I with my B2100?

  • I went swimming in Nagsasa Cove with it and we were lighting the glowing planktons in the water with the use of its flashlight. The phone was submersed in water while its flashlight was on. Apparently the planktons do not glow with light. (Not so good move.)
  • We were always throwing it inside the office to surprise fellow officemates.
  • One of my officemates threw it to a busy fellow officemate and amazingly he caught the phone. That’s a reflex of a badminton player for you.
