LED Flashlight

My 3 Useful Travel Gadgets

January 25, 2012 by Josiah 12 Comments

Ever since I have started traveling I have been very picky with what gadgets I bring. Other than function, weight and size plays a huge factor on what I buy for my travels. So I’m very proud to present you some of the things that are really useful to me during my travels.

1. LED Flashlight

Off-the-beaten-path locations are awesome when there is daylight but is a nightmare at night when you are not equipped with a flashlight. I use an LED flashlight because of the following reasons

  • Lightweight with a small rigid metallic body – Ideal for packing light and does not take much space in my pack.
  • Longer battery life than a halogen flashlight – The LED flashlight that I have uses 3 AAA batteries and usually lasts for 3 travels I have that I heavily use the flashlight.

Price: 165 Pesos – 12 LED; 100 Pesos – 9 LED
Can be bought at: Ace Hardware, Handyman and sometimes in the streets of Quiapo and overpasses. It is cheaper when you buy them from peddlers in streets.

Additonal Note:

  • When you turn on the flashlight and sometimes it turns on and sometimes it does not, it means that you should change your battery. Do not be like me who bought another one. O well, at least I can share a flashlight when I’m with someone. 🙂
