Did you know that the Rice Terraces in Hungduan, Ifugao are included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site list for Cultural Landscape?

Frankly, I do not know the benefit if the site is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. What I do know is that the Hungduan Rice Terraces is on my list as my favorite scenic spots in the country and I really want to preserve it the way it is.

Don’t believe me that Hungduan Rice Terraces are awesome? Let me show you what they look like.

Hapao Rice Terraces

Out of all the Hungduan Rice Terraces the ones in Hapao are the most famous as many travellers could see it’s beauty by just going to the view deck located on the road in Hapao. But there’s a better way to see Hapao Rice Terraces and that is to walk on it by going to the Bogyah Hot Spring.

Hapao Rice Terraces in Hungduan, Ifugao

I first saw the beauty of Hapao Rice Terraces last year when our jeepney stopped at its viewpoint. Immediately, it became one of my most favorite rice terraces in the Cordillera or what others might say, love at first sight.

Seeing it was really awesome but taking a good picture of it requires analytical skills as the cables of the Agricultural Tramline is somehow blocking the way. But I did not mind as the benefit of tramline to the local people outweighs my picture.

I’ll let you in on a little secret. From the viewpoint of Hapao Rice Terraces go down about 300 meters down the road until you pass by a colorful house (I wish the owner does not repaint). You’ll see a gap between the houses where you can see Nungulunan Rice Terraces.
