Overnight

The Overnight Protocol

June 29, 2013 by Josiah Leave a Comment

The concept of the Overnight Protocol started when I was having a chat with another travel fanatic and a former officemate of mine. We were talking about immediate travel invitations and how to increase the chance of saying yes to that kind of invitation. The topic evolved to unplanned super pasikat sa boss overtime sessions at the office or just a simple hey-friends-let’s-spend-the-night-at-tagaytay-now-na invitation.

My officemate concluded that to increase the chance of saying yes to immediate overnight invitation is to always bring the essentials, underwear and a toothbrush.

Underwear for the simple change of the currently used one.

Toothbrush is for brushing the teeth. Toothpaste can be acquired through the use of charms from your friends or their stock at home.

Since my body has a different set of characteristics I concluded to always bring an extra shirt, underwear and my pogi pack.

My Overnight Protocol – Rolled Underwear and Extra Shirt and my Pogi Pack

Extra shirt – I have an active sweat glands that’s why after a long days work I would have a need to change my shirt.

Before we went to Bataan I had little money but I really wanted to hit the beach for an overnight trip. At first I was not confident in going for an overnight trip to Bataan with only 1,000 Pesos as budget. I went back to my notes, removed all the expensive tourist spots, tried to construct a new budget and itinerary for my trip to Bataan and that was when I realized that it was possible to go there with only 1,000 Pesos as budget. And with a lot of walking and by taking food from our houses we actually did it.
