Unfortunately, they are now closed. 🙁
Note: They’re now changing their name to LC’s Gourmet Restaurant.
After a month long vacation of spending time with family and friends in Manila, I was finally able to go back to Palawan. But before I could leave Puerto Princesa I had to meet with friends – KZ and her sister Jem of Daytripper Palawan.
KZ and Jem loves good healthy food. In their search for gastronomic healthy options they jokingly followed a sweet smell to Loid Vegetarian & Raw Food Resto.
We were supposed to be going straight to San Jose Terminal, but Jem said that Loid’s serves good food and I should try it. I asked “Now?”. I had not had lunch and it was already 5:20 in the afternoon so I kind of insisted that we should dine there. And yes we did.
It was just a small restaurant on the National Highway. Nothing noticeable as it has no big streamers of fancy lights to attract attention. Just tables covered in light and dark green cloths and plastic mono bloc chairs. One could easily mistaken it as an ordinary small karinderya with 5 tables but from what I experienced it’s not.
I asked what’s the best dish they’ve got. Jem told me to close my eyes, drop my pointer finger on the menu and choose whatever dish I was pointing. KZ answered that I should try the Stir Fry Vegetable Pad Thai. I was hungry and tired to move so I went with KZ’s advise. They then ordered Raw Pad Thai. I added a Banana-Mango Smoothie with Celery as per Ate Weng’s advise (the one who took our order).
First came my Banana-Mango Smoothie with Celery. It was served on a curvaceous glass and white bendable straw. The shake was colored with a deep shade of yellow with tid bits of green that represented the celery. It was good and refreshing. Not too sweet and not bland. I tasted the mango, banana and the hint of celery. I’m not a fan of celery but for this drink it was in harmony with the mix of ice, mango and banana. But according to KZ you can request for the celery to the extreme point of the shake going green.

The Raw Pad Thai came next. The sisters advised me to taste their food. I was hungry. Who am I to say no? I see monggo sprouts, thin slices of cucumber, bits of string beans, strips of what seem like bell pepper mixed wih cream and cheese. I took a small amount and placed it in a small white plate, raised my fork and scooped the Raw Pad Thai from the plate to my mouth. It was good! It had a light taste with healthy light ingredients, perfect for a late afternoon lunch. The size was big too. Good for the both of them.
