Experiencing Zest Air Flight Cancellation

July 18, 2013 by Josiah 4 Comments

Last Monday, July 15 2013, at around 4:30 PM while I was waiting for my 5PM flight to Puerto Princesa at NAIA Terminal 4, I heard the announcement that our flight will be delayed due to late arrival of turn around aircraft. I was a expecting that since most flights at the afternoon are delayed nowadays. But a little past 5PM they announced that our flight was cancelled.

Zest Air Flight Cancellation

There I was still working on my computer, trying to look unshocked from the announcement. Passengers stood up and went to the passenger assistance desk near the gates only to walk back to the check-in counters to be rebooked.

After shutting down my computer, I went to the passenger information desk to ask what should I do. Unfortunately, the staff of Zest Air was unavailable as they were all servicing departing guests to another destination. I waited a bit, but since I do not think they’ll be available really soon I walked back to the entry gate of the departure area and asked a security guard what should I do. She told me to go out of the departure area and join the line of fellow passengers whose flight was cancelled. I smiled and thanked her.

Travelling with the Height of 5 Feet and 11 Inches

December 5, 2011 by Josiah 18 Comments

I stand 5 feet and 11 inches. Most Filipinos envy my height. They think of it as a blessing. I also do think of it as a blessing on occasions like getting the dried clothes from the sampayan and how easily spottable I am during a crowded concert but for riding transportations in the Philippines, somehow it is a curse.

I stand 5 feet and 11 inches.  I do not mind when a row in a van should only be 3 people then 4 people gets squished in it. I do mind when they modify a 3-row van into a 4-row van because my knees are already hitting the next row in the front. Imagine that situation for a 3 hour van ride from Tacloban City to Borongan. Still there are those who are commendable for not modifying their vans like the van from Iloilo City to Iloilo Airport.

I stand 5 feet and 11 inches. I do mind how expensive airfare is in the Philippines but I also know how much time I can save with them. I also mind on how weirdly the seats are closely spaced apart that it gives me the same knee problem as the vans. Where being at the window seat may also become a curse when I wanted to get to the lavatory. Maybe I should try accepting the
