On my frequent visits to Puerto Princesa I am always looking for a clean, comfortable and accessible place to stay. Usually, I would go for a budget accommodation that has a lower quality, common CR and only has a fan room, but whenever I have an tiny amount of extra budget I would prefer staying at Go Hotels in Puerto Princesa. A hotel with good quality but does not break the bank.
Discounted rates for Go Hotels Puerto Princesa.
Here are most of the things that I like and dislike about Go Hotels Puerto Princesa.
1. Location, Location, Location
Go Hotels is located near Robinsons Mall. Very convenient if I need to buy toiletries, medicine and some other stuff needed for traveling. There are also restaurants just in case you get hungry. Movies too. Mall hours is 10AM to 9PM.
It is also located near the transport terminal in San Jose where you can ride buses and vans going to El Nido, San Vicente, Rio Tuba, Quezon and many other places in mainland Palawan. To get to the transport terminal from Go Hotels just walk to the highway and ride the a tricycle or multicab heading to New Market (10 Pesos/person). Travel time is 5 minutes.
Though a bit farther you can also head to the City Proper where restaurants like Kalui and Badjao Seafront Restaurants are located. The Palawan Provincial Capitol is also located in that area. To get there cross the highway and ride the tricycle or multicabs heading to the city proper (10 Pesos/person). Travel time is around 10-15 minutes.
Go Hotels location is also within the pick-up area of tour agencies for Underground River, Honda Bay, City Tour, Iwahig Firefly Watching and many other tours in Puerto Princesa.

2. Room Quality
The clean rooms and comfortable beds is what I love about Go Hotels Puerto Princesa. I’ve been staying at many hotels in Puerto Princesa and so far this is the cheapest in terms of great quality.
The rooms are clean, simple and elegant.
Comfortable bed with 2 pillows and a blanket with the right thickness.
It has a cable TV, a safe and foldable table.
I do admit that I’m not a fan of the foldable table. It is functional but far from comfortable since I would use the bed as a chair. I’ve always loved working on a table and chair. If I needed to work I would usually head to their cafe or the lobby or head to Robinsons Mall.
There’s no cabinet too. So it’s either I put my clothes and stuff on the other bed when I am alone or they will be sitting on the floor or I will sleep beside them.
There’s a place to hang your clothes though.
3. Electrical Sockets
There are two sets of electrical sockets in the room that I stayed in. One beside the foldable table, the other is beside the lamp. If you have more gadgets just like me you will definitely need a triple cube adapter.
The bathroom is also clean and my favorite is that they have a rain shower.
Hot water is working too.
The toilet bowl was clean and was working well on all my stay there. There’s a tissue roll beside the toilet bowl but there’s no bidet, but I always have a wet tissue so the bidet is not that big of an issue. I still wish that they have a bidet.
There’s a complimentary small soap and shampoo too.
Towels are included. If you want to change the towels you can request for a Make Up Room then put the towels on the sink. Then they will change the towels.
5. Room Cleaning
You can request for your room to be cleaned by hanging the Make Up Room sign outside your door from 11AM to 2PM. Then they would clean your room from 2PM to 6PM. They would clean your room even if you are not there as long as the Make Up Room sign is on your door.
If you want your room to be cleaned outside of their designated hours there will be additional charges.
I always book via Agoda and what I usually book does not include breakfast. But when I want breakfast I head over to their cafe and pay an additional 220 Pesos/person/breakfast.
The breakfast includes ala carte order of Pork Adobo, Pork Longganisa, Pork Tocino, Corned Beef, Relyenong Bangus, Smoked Fish, Lamayong Danggit, Classic Spam or Hotdog. Then it includes unlimited rice, bread, fruits and juice or coffee.
Breakfast starts at 6AM to 10AM. Then the cafe is open up to 10PM as they say. But I highly doubt their schedule because the last time I was there they were already closed when I wanted to work at around 6PM. Then on the day I left they were still not open for breakfast at 6AM. I do wish they were more consistent with their schedule.
The cafe has electric sockets that you can use if you want to work there.
If you want to have an earlier breakfast or if their breakfast is closed you can walk along the highway around 500 meters to Jollibee which is open 24 hours.
The cafe offers the usual potato chips (Piattos, Mr. Chips, etc.) and instant noodles outside the breakfast time. They do offer coffee but I think this is a 3 in 1 coffee. The coffee I ordered was 30 Pesos/cup. I wish they offer sandwiches.
The ambience was really good though.
7. WiFi and Mobile Signal
The last time I stayed in Go Hotels Puerto Princesa WiFi internet signals was accessible in all the rooms. They would even give you your own username and password during check-in. But the speed of their internet is okay for simple Facebook. But somewhat slow if you have need to stream a video or would do a video call.
[sam id=”18″ codes=”true”]
If you need to stream video or do a video call don’t worry, the mobile signal of Globe is really good in this area. The signal of Smart and Sun does go inside the room of Go Hotels Puerto Princesa but I am not sure if their internet speed was good since I have yet to use them when I am in Puerto Princesa.
If you want a better mobile internet signal request for a room that is located on the second floor.
8. Hotel Lobby
Go Hotels Puerto Princesa has a lobby where the front desk is located.
If you need to use the the toilet but due to some emergency you cannot reach your room you can use the toilet beside the front desk.
This is also where the cafe is located.
9. Pick-up and Drop-off at Airport
They also offer Pick-up and Drop-off at the Airport. you would need to pay an additional 21 Pesos/person (one-way). This is really cheap and I would highly recommend that you avail this service.
For Pick-up at the airport kindly tell Go Hotels what time is your flight and your flight number. You can also add this to your Agoda booking. The Flight Number is important because that’s how they could track if your flight is delayed or not even if you do not tell them. Once you go out of the arrival area of the airport look for a the Go Hotels sign. This can easily be located since the signboard is colored yellow and tell the person your name.
For the drop-off to the airport you will need to follow their schedule.
5:30 AM is the first trip. 4:30 PM is the last trip. Interval of 1 hour every trip.
5:30AM, 6:30AM, 7:30AM, 8:30AM, 9:30AM, 10:30AM, 11:30AM, 12:30PM, 1:30PM, 2:30PM, 3:30PM and 4:30PM.
You can also have your clothes laundried in Go Hotels Puerto Princesa for 30 Pesos/kg, minimum of 2 kg. But you would need to follow their schedule.
You must give your dirty clothes to the front desk before 12:00 NN. Then you would get your clothes at around 2PM the next day. There’s no rush service.
11. Parking Space
If you brought a vehicle with you then I am happy to tell you that Go Hotels has ample parking for its guests. Their parking space is located right in front of the hotel.
12. No eating inside the rooms
Yup! You cannot eat inside the rooms especially smelly foods but there’s a table along the hallway and beside the cafe that you can use if you want to eat.
13. No shower area outside of the rooms
If you have a tour on the same day as your check-out you can request for Go Hotels to secure your belongings while you do the tours. Unfortunately, they do not have shower areas outside of the rooms. So you will end up feeling icky with sweat and the sea when you are traveling to El Nido or have a flight in the evening.
Check the photo below for the rules and regulations when staying at Go Hotels Puerto Princesa
14. They sell drinking water at the front desk
Every time I stay here I always forget to buy water from the grocery that is why I am happy to let you know that you can buy bottled drinking water from the front desk. I think it was around 25 Pesos per 500mL bottle. Sorry, I can’t remember exactly the exact price but it’s around that price range.
I admit that Go Hotels Puerto Princesa does have a lot to go to be an ideal accommodation for travelers, but for the location, cleanliness, quality and price I would still recommend them. In fact, I have stayed here many times and I’m sure that I will stay here again in my future visits in Puerto Princesa.
I always book via Agoda when staying here since their rates are cheaper. Visit Go Hotels Puerto Princesa in Agoda for discounted rates.
