Last two weeks ago I finally tried the zipline in El Nido, Palawan. It was short and fun.
There were a lot of question in my mind before I did the El Nido Zipline. How much is it? Where is it located? What preparation should I do? What to do after?
This blog post will try to answer all questions I had before and more. Hopefully, this would help you prepare for your zipline adventure in El Nido. This is a travel guide for El Nido Zipline.

Maremegmeg Beach from Paradise View
1. Located at Maremegmeg Beach
Maremegmeg Beach is famously known as Las Cabañas Beach. This is where El Nido Zipline is located. Not really along the beach but somewhere higher on the hill.

Getting there
To get here from the town proper of El Nido, ride a tricycle and tell the driver that you want to head to Maremegmeg Beach for the Zipline.
- Tricycle Rate: 150 Pesos/tricycle (one-way)
- Travel Time: 20 minutes (one-way)

Note: There’s a part of the road that was still not cemented.

Rough Road
If you are staying at Corong-Corong area you can haggle the rate to 100 Pesos/tricycle (one-way) since you are located nearer.
You can ask your tricycle driver to wait for you after you do the El Nido Zipline. He will wait at the entrance of Maremegmeg Beach.
2. You will do a short hike uphill
When our tricycle stopped there was a trail going uphill on the right. We followed our tricycle driver and we patiently walked uphill while our heart pumped hard.
- Hiking Time: around 10 minutes
If you are not used to hiking then this would not be that short.
3. Priced at around 500-1,100 Pesos/person
Depends on what you want to do the price would vary. I paid 700 Pesos since I availed one-way superman.
Note: Prices may change in the future without prior notice.
4. There’s a time limit
The El Nido Zipline is open from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
If you arrive later than 5:30 PM they will no longer accommodate you.
Island hopping in El Nido is from 9AM to 4PM. Therefore you could still do this right after your island hopping tour. Just quickly look for a tricycle to get you to El Nido Zipline.
5. There’s a weight requirement
There’s a health requirement too.
6. You would need to sign a waiver
This is before they suit you up with their harnesses.
7. Where comfortable clothing
I wore a shirt and a trekking pants when I did this. Most of the people doing the zipline were wearing shirt and shorts. I’m not sure if wearing a dress is advisable on this type of activity.
For footwear, I went up there wearing slippers. They asked me to remove my slippers for the zipline and strapped it on one of the carabiners along with my bag. You can also wear shoes if you like.

My slippers and bag attached to the carabiners. The grey cloth is my bag.
The advantage of having your things attached during the zipline is to avoid the hassle of going back to the jumpoff point. Which is really far away from the end point of the zipline.

8. Wearing of harness and helmet are required
For safety reasons wearing of harness and helmets are required. The harness is also what they use to attach you to the zipline.
Do not worry if it’s complicated to wear. A staff will help you once you get to the other end to remove the harness and helmet.

A staff helping me remove my harness at the other end of the zipline.
9. It’s around 750 meters long
It starts from the main land of Palawan at Maremegmeg crossing to Depeldet Island.
Please do not believe that there is a zipline that connects Las Cabanas Beach to Snake Island. That is not true. At least as of writing it is not true. Snake Island is really far away, around 8 kms from Maremegmeg Beach/Las Cabañas.

Starting platform
I did the superman and it took me 1 minute and 7 seconds to reach the end of the zipline.
Once we reached the platform at Depeldet Island the staff asked us if we availed a two-way zipline. We told him that we only availed of one-way.
If you are availing of a two-way zipline, there’s a higher platform at Depeldet Island for the zipline back.
10. Do not panic when you do not reach the platform
Guests who avail of the sitting position usually do not reach the other end of the platform. Do not panic when this happens. The staff at the Depeldet Island will fetch you and pull you towards the platform.
11. There’s a long stair way down to the beach
And it’s made of bamboo.

12. Just follow the side of the island until you reach a not so rocky path
After we got down the stairs we were thinking if we should go straight to the rocky part of the sandbar and head straight to Las Cabañas. We decided to walk on the side of the island since it was a more flat path. I’m glad we made that decision because it was an easier route.

13. You may get wet when crossing the sand bar during high tide
We were lucky to cross the sandbar during low tide. Just in case you do the zipline be ready to cross the sandbar during high tide.
14. Keep walking at Las Cabañas Beach until you reach the small path
The walk from the sandbar to the small path took us around 13 minutes walk.
The small path will lead you to the tricycle terminal. 3 minutes and 10 seconds walk.
If you ask your tricycle driver to wait for you then this is where you will meet him. If not, then there are tricycle drivers who offer a ride back to town for 150 Pesos/person (one-way). 20 minutes travel time. I’m not sure up to what time tricycles wait for passengers in the terminal.
15. There are restaurants along Las Cabañas Beach
Just in case you want to sit down and have lunch/dinner before heading back to town.
16. Sidetrips from El Nido Zipline
From the town proper to Maremegmeg Beach there are other places you can visit.
Paradise View
It’s a viewdeck where you can see the Bacuit Bay, Corong-Corong Beach and Maremegmeg Beach. We stopped by here on our way to El Nido Zipline.
Happiness Beach Bar
Rated as the top restaurant in El Nido via TripAdvisor as of writing. We dined here after our El Nido Zipline. We rode a tricycle to get here.

Happiness Beach Bar
Corong-Corong Beach
After our Happiness Beach Bar early dinner, we walked along the beach while looking at the sunset.
Mangrove Eco Park
This is farther away from the town proper of El Nido but I think there’s no additional fee for the tricycle. I did this before but now they have an entrance fee. I’ll visit here again once I get back to El Nido.
I hope the above list helps you on your adventure for the El Nido Zipline.
